MA Spotlight: Meet Ryan

Ryan is a Medical Assistant Apprentice at Dartmouth Health working in Nashua’s Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Ryan always offers a warm smile and provides an abundance of care to his patients. Before joining the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Workforce Readiness Institute (D-H WRI) training program, Ryan was a stay-at-home dad for 15 years, as well as a volunteer for The Caregivers organization. He knew he loved helping people and held the skills to be an effective leader in demanding or sensitive situations. In the fall of 2020, amidst a global pandemic, Ryan applied for and was accepted into the D-H WRI Medical Assistant (MA) training program. Within 11 weeks Ryan successfully passed the national competency exam, holds the credential of Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and earned 46 college credits with Colby-Sawyer College at no cost. We are so proud to have people like Ryan choose to return to the workforce and be part of the valued team within Dartmouth Health.
